Itinerary: From Hanoi, you travel nearly 300 km to Tuyen Quang city; then keep going towards Na Hang town and continue 40 km northeast to reach Hong Thai commune where immense terraced rice fields are waiting for you to explore. Transport: You can drive yourself to Hong Thai (by motorbike or car) or take a coach.

Time: Currently, Hong Thai has become a “four-season rendezvous” for visitors due to its genuine and diverse beauty. But perhaps autumn is still the best time to travel because that is when the whole Hong Thai valley wears a yellow coat of autumn sunshine and ripe rice. Accommodation: You can choose a homestay around the local area.

Cuisine: Besides terraced carp, Hong Thai also has many unforgettable special dishes such as “rocket” piglets, vegetable fern, dried buffalo meat, bamboo shoots, brook gobies, sour meat, and pears. Other notes:  To see the beautiful views of the rice terraces, you can hire a guide to save time.

 Besides Hong Thai, you can visit some outstanding tourist attractions in Na Hang, which is just 40 km away, such as Thac Mo,

Pac Ta temple, Khuoi Nhi waterfall, Coc Vai Pha, Phia Vai cave and Song Long cave to enjoy interesting experiences such as sailing, walking in the primeval forest and exploring local culture and cuisine.
