DEAR VALUED READERS,

When December comes to complete the circle of the year, the sound of Tet music plays with a livelier rhythm.

-

Tet flavors gradually flood everywhere. Every train station is jam-packed with people. The Tet markets are crowded with eager shoppers and sellers. People are busy shopping in the exciting atmosphere. The city is bustling as vendors carrying phrynium and old coriander spread across all the streets and alleys. Yellow apricot blossoms, peach blossoms and kumquat trees are decorated in every house. Mothers make offerings for the Kitchen God departs earth for Heaven. Neighbors call out to each other with warm laughter to cook a pot of banh chung. Instead of big explosions and the strong scent of firecrackers in Tet, cheerful music urges people to reunite with their families... That’s when Tet really arrives, bringing along all the ancient beauty which seemed to have faded away because of modern urban life.

For New Year 2020’s greetings, besides the familiar categories, this issue of Travellive invites you to set aside the rush of the old year, open the door to welcome the spring, enjoy slow-living style for three intimate and cozy days with family and immerse yourself in the familiar tastes of the old traditional Vietnamese Tet.

May the spirit of the new year fill your heart with happiness and success!
