Visa: As a part of ASEAN, Myanmar has exempted visa for Vietnamese tourists, allowing entry for 14 days.

Itinerary: The direct flights between Hanoi/ho Chi Minh City and Yangon have a price of about 3 million VND, the flight time is very convenient because the takeoff is always in the afternoon and landing at 6 pm.

Transport: The best and most economical way to get from Yangon to Bagan is to take a night bus, you will arrive in Bagan about 6 am after 9 hours of journey. Popular bus companies like JJ Express or Khaing Mandalay have high-quality beds, air conditioners, wide seats, warm blankets, snacks, water, wifi, mini TV screens and chargers to make it convenient for passengers. Tickets can be purchased online for about 12-15 Usd/one way.

In Bagan, you can rent an electric bicycle or a horse-drawn carriage to freely and slowly explore this city; or rent a car with tour guide/driver to take you around Bagan for no more than 40 Usd/day.

Accommodation: Bagan is divided into 3 areas: Old Bagan, New Bagan and Nyaung-u. Each area has many convenient hotels and guesthouses, but Old Bagan has the highest room rate, and Nyaung-u has a lower price. Bagan peak tourist season falls in the last months of the year, so you need to book your room at least one month in advance to have a better choice.

Cuisine: Myanmar food is very delicious and cheap, about 3-5 USD/ meal/person. Some small restaurants in the temples in Bagan also specialize in vegetarian food. Don’t forget to try Myanmar milk tea.

Currency: Myanmar uses kyat. 1 kyat is equivalent to approximately 16 VND.
