VIETNAM WELCOMED 3.7 MILLION FOREIGN VISITORS IN FIRST SIX MONTHS
Vietnam received 3.7 million foreign visitors in first six months, a 55.8% drop yearon-year, according to the General Statistics Office. Asians accounted for 72.7% of the country’s foreign arrivals, such as China, Korea and Japan. Especially, Cambodian visitors increased by 105.9%.
Vietnam has not yet opened its doors to foreign visitors. The government is currently considering a gradual easing of its entry restrictions on foreign visitors to revive the tourism industry.
