NỘI The SEA Games futsal match between Việt Nam and Indonesia ended in a 1-1 draw, thanks to a late Indonesian equaliser.

The hosts entered the match to the cheers of more than 5,000 fans at Hà Nam Sports Hall in Hà Nam Province.

From the off, Việt Nam played a high-pressing formation to put pressure on the visitors.

The hosts had the first shot thanks to captain Trần Văn Vũ, but it was blocked by an opposing defender.

In the second minute, Việt Nam scored their first goal thanks to a beautiful volley from pivot Nguyễn Minh Trí, after he got collected a pass from Vũ.

Việt Nam continued to control the game after the first goal and created more chances, aided by their attacking formation, though they adjusted the tempo so as not to be caught on the counter.

In the 16th minute, pivot Soumilena tried his luck from outside the penalty area. Just two minutes later, Tuấn Thành went face-to-face with the goalkeeper after a mistake from an Indonesian defender, but missed the target.

During the first half, Indonesia also had some good chances to equalise the score, but Vietnamese keeper Hồ Văn Ý saved

every effort.

In the last minute, Trí got the ball from a long throw from his keeper, but his first touch was not good enough to make anything of it.

The first half ended with a one-goal advantage for the hosts.

After the break, Việt Nam continued to enter the Indonesian half with their high-press.

Châu Đoàn Phát had a powerful shot from halfway but, luckily for the guest, the goalkeeper kept it under control.

Two minutes later, Phát got another chance to double the

score for Việt Nam. After a mistake by the Indonesian defence, Phát got the ball and struck for goal. The goalkeeper did enough to push it onto the post.

In the 26th minute, Nguyễn Minh Trí fancied his chances from an accurate long pass from Văn Vũ, but Indonesia goalkeeper Nayaruddin was again in the way.

In the last ten minutes, Indonesia pushed players up to search for an equaliser.

In the 33rd minute, Syauqi Saud passed Phát with some slick dribbling. Seeing an opening, he fired with his left foot into the top corner.

As the final whistle approached, both teams looked for a winner, but none was forthcoming.

Both teams take a point from the encounter.

With the draw, Thailand are top of the group thanks to a 6-2 over Malaysia, with Peerapat scoring a hat-trick.
