►Shooting

Marksman Trần Quốc Cường won a gold medal by scoring 548 points in men's 50m pistol, which is the second gold medal for Việt Nam's shooting at the Games.

Indonesian Fathur Gustafian took home a gold medal as he scored 247.4 points in the final 10m air rifle yesterday in Hà Nội.

►Bowling

Indonesia secured a gold medal in the men's doubles bowling event at the SEA Games 31 yesterday in Hà Nội.

Singapore 1 and Singapore 2 took silver and bronze, respective­ly.

►Mountain bike

Malaysian cyclists earned a gold in the SEA Games 31 mixed mountain bike cross-country relay held in Hòa Bình city, the northern province of Hòa Bình yesterday.

The silver medal of the event went to Việt Nam and the bronze for Thailand.

►Indoor volleyball

Indonesia won 3-1 over the Philippine­s in a women’s indoor volleyball match within the SEA Games 31 which took place at the Đại Yên Gymnasium in Hạ Long City, the northern province of Quảng Ninh.

►Petanque

On the fourth day of competitio­n at the 31st SEA Games yesterday, the Vietnamese petanque team continued to achieve success when reaching the semi-finals in both the mixed triple and mixed doubles events.

►Muay

Philippine­s martial artists grabbed a gold medal in the women’s Waikru Mai (performanc­e) yesterday in Vĩnh Phúc Province. Việt Nam took a silver while Thailand earned a bronze.

►Chess

Husband and wife Nguyễn Ngọc Trường Sơn and Phạm Lê Thảo Nguyên won the men’s and women’s rapid chess events.

Sơn defeated Tin Jingyao of Singapore in the last round while Nguyên beat Gong Qianyun, also from Singapore at Quảng Ninh Province’s Exhibition of Planning and Expo Centre.

►Tennis

Vietnamese players Lê Quốc Khánh and Nguyễn Văn Phương yesterday defeated their Malaysian Muhammad Aliman Bin Hamdan and Darrshan Suresh 6-4, 6-0 in the qualificat­ion round of the men’s doubles event in Bắc Ninh Province.

Vietnamese athletes are set to rival those from Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia in these events.

►Sepak takraw

Thailand walked away with gold in the women’s team regu category yesterday in Hà Nội.

Việt Nam had a 2-0 win over Myanmar on May 17, bringing home another silver medal.

In the men’s team regu, Thailand won gold, while silver went to Malaysia and both Indonesia and the Philippine­s got the bronze.
