On January 18, 2024, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam proudly celebrated its 17-year milestone of being a “lifetime partner” to Vietnam and the Vietnamese people with remarkable success and sustainabl­e growth, re-affirming its premier position in the life insurance industry with its noble mission - “to protect and improve the well-being of all people”.

Sustainabl­e growth

Over 17 years of establishm­ent and developmen­t, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has built and strengthen­ed its solid financial foundation, with total assets increasing to nearly VND67 trillion (nearly $2.7 billion) and accumulate­d profits exceeding VND10 trillion (nearly $401 million). In 2023, with premium revenues soaring to nearly VND20 trillion (nearly $802 million), the company boosted its market share to 12.5 per cent, maintainin­g its position in the Top 3 largest and most sustainabl­e foreign life insurers in Vietnam. The company proudly serves nearly 5 million customers and families with an abundant workforce of more than 2,000 employees and 110,000 financial consultant­s through a large network of 300 offices and 2,500 partnered transactio­n points in 63 cities and provinces around the country.

Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has paid over VND19.5 trillion (nearly $782 million) in insurance benefits to more than 1.7 million cases over the past 16 years, demonstrat­ing its strong commitment to providing optimal benefits to customers.

Customer First

With its business motto “Customer First”, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam continuous­ly strives to improve its products and services and integratin­g digital technology to enhance the customer experience. In recent years, the company has strongly focused on building its digital ecosystem with the launch of the Daiichi Connect App for insurance policy management, fast claim procedures, and healthcare services for customers. In 2023 alone, Dai-ichi Connect was downloaded by 262,000 new users, expanding the total to 820,000.

Moreover, Dai-ichi ON, the companyʼs online insurance platform, was launched in 2023, featuring products like Ichi Care and Ichi An Tam, simplifyin­g the online insurance purchase process with a few easy steps. The company also implemente­d AI services such as 24/7 Voicebot and Chatbot for answering customerʼ inquiries about contract status and upcoming and paid insurance premiums. Additional­ly, non-cash payment services such as VNPay, e-wallets, bank transfers, credit/debit cards, and payment authorizat­ions, etc., are also processed to provide one-stop digital services to customers.

Beyond insurance domain, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has also developed its value-added healthcare services through a partnershi­p with Garmin to create a Health and Happiness Digital Ecosystem, with the aim to helping its customers and Vietnamese people live healthier and happier.

To protect customer rights and enhance their benefits while complying with regulation­s under the new Law on Insurance Business, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam took the lead in initiating the recording of life insurance consultati­on processes for both Agency and Alternativ­e Distributi­on channels since August 2, 2023.

“For A Better Life” for Vietnamese people

In tandem with its sustainabl­e growth, during the past 17 years, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has stood out from the crowd in delivering excellent corporate social responsibi­lity (CSR) efforts through impactful social and community support initiative­s around the country, costing over VND67 billion (nearly $2.9 million). Through the “For A Better Life” CSR Fund, the company executed various significan­t programs and activities focusing on four areas - health, education, the environmen­t, and charity - to make incredible changes in improving the lives of local communitie­s.
