Luanshya gets new business body
By KELVIN SIABANA THE private sector in Luanshya has been prodded to take advantage of the newly formed district chamber of commerce and industry and explore the opportunities which will unfold with the coming of the business body.
Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda has assured the business sector of support from the local council towards facilitating and sustaining the formation of the district chamber of commerce and industry.
The mayor said this in a speech read by the deputy mayor, Mr Golden Mulenga, during the recent official opening of the Zambia Association of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI), Chamber Development seminar in Luanshya.
Mr Chanda said that he was highly expectant that the newly formed district chamber will flourish in all its activities for the economy of Luanshya to move forward.
The mayor expressed confidence that the newly formed business body would play a vital role in transforming the economy of the mining town on the Copperbelt.
Mr Chanda also commended ZACCI for responding to the request by Luanshya Municipal Council to facilitate the formation of the district chamber of commerce and industry.
The mayor commended the local authority management for taking up the initiative to launch the district chamber of commerce and industry in Luanshya.
