Mkushi PF rolls out solar hammer mills

-

By MUKOSELA KASALWE MKUSHI North Constituency will receive 61 solar hammer mills in all the 14 Wards and this move will boost agriculture activities as well as uplift people’s lives, says Patriotic Front area Member of Parliament Doreen Mwape.

Ms Mwape said the solar powered hammer mills were currently being rolled out in the constituency, a development she said was unprecedented and had elated residents. She said President Edgar Lungu was concerned about people in the rural areas and that Mkushi North had not been left behind in development. In an interview at the weekend, the lawmaker said people should not be cheated by doomsayers as much as they were entitled to their own opinions but that the area was receiving a facelift in the health, communication and technology, agriculture and water and sanitation services among others.

Ms Mwape said having canvased all the Wards it was evident that the Patriotic Front party was still the favorite of the people owing to their development agenda.

“I am happy that as MP Mkushi North has started receiving the 61 solar powered hammer mills allocated to us, this is the first time we are seeing such development and the gesture will accelerate agriculture activities and empower our people. I want people to know about this development among others, they should not be cheated as Mkushi we have not been left behind in the development drive,” she said.

Ms Mwape also revealed that a water reticulation scheme was being constructed and that one had already been commissioned.

She said the district hospital was at 95 percent complete and expressed hope that the health facility would soon be commissioned.

Ms Mwape said out of the country wide 650 health posts her constituency received five and that the electrification of Fiwila hospital was underway.
