THE UPND in Sinazongwe has endorsed Hakainde Hichilema as the sole candidate for 2021 general elections following the announcement that the party is headed for a congress, says UPND Sinazongwe spokesperson, George Bbabi.

And Mr Bbabi said that at the moment, Mr Hichilema was the only one capable of taking the UPND to State House.

He told the Daily Nation that the UPND leader’s tested leadership had grown the party as evidenced by the number of members of Parliament it has.

Mr Bbabi said that UPND would form government in 2021 as long as Mr Hichilema remained its presidential candidate.

He said that in as much as other members had the right to challenge Mr Hichilema’s presidency at the planned congress, Sinazongwe as a district had already endorsed him as the sole candidate.

Mr Bbabi said the district would be going to the convention to vote for Mr Hichilema even if there would be other candidates to challenge him.
