CITY WELCOME ‘PRODIGAL SONS’

- By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA

CITY of Lusaka has lifted the life ban slapped on four ‘controversial’ club members who had accused the executive committee of mismanaging football affairs of ‘Yamoto’

The development was announced at the community stakeholders meeting held on Sunday in Woodlands.

Last September, the executive slapped a life ban on community chairman Kebby Chilupe, Mbuna Mwanza, James Mazimba and George Phiri for gross misconduct.

Club chairman Justin Zulu led the executive in welcoming the four club committee members.

And Chilupe in an interview hailed the reconciliation between the community members and the executive because it was only through a combined effort that the team could bounce back to Super Division.

“I can confirm that the life ban has been lifted, the executive and the four community members are in good books. We are now on the same page and humbled that the executive chairman Justin Zulu even apologised to the general populace at Sunday’s meeting,” he said.

He was happy that the executive had acknowledged that the club had problems which contributed to the demotion of the team.

Chilupe said the community will work together with the executive to find a winning formula for the team.

“This is just a start of bigger things at City of Lusaka, the team will definitely bounce back into Super Division next year. We have all put our difference behind and put the welfare of the team a top priority,” he said.
