CITY OF LUSAKA STADIUM TRIBUNAL POSTPONED
THE tribunal hearing over the banning of City of Lusaka from using Woodlands Stadium for its league matches over branding rights between league sponsors MTN and rivals Vodafone which the stadium is named after was yesterday adjourned to January 25 next year,
The Competition and Consumer Protection (CCP) tribunal was postponed to allow MTN and FAZ to prepare adequately.
The tribunal chaired by State Counsel Willie Mubanga failed to take off because FAZ had not been served with the notice to join the party as a respondent by the CCP secretariat.
And MTN Zambia through their lawyer Sydney Chisenga of Corpus Legal Practitioners asked for more time to prepare because the document was only served to them on Tuesday.
Mubanga adjourned the hearing to January 25, 2018 which all parties should attend without fail.
In August, FAZ banned City from using Woodlands Stadium for league matches over branding rights between league spon- sors MTN and rivals Vodafone.
But on October 25, Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued an interim order against MTN and FAZ for allegedly engaging in anti-competitive and restrictive business practices which forced the soccerbody extend an amnesty to City to use the Stadium for the three matches that remained.
