Dialogue between Lungu and HH will yield nothing

-

Dear Editor,

THE Commonwealth brokered dialogue between President Lungu and Hakainde Hichilema of UPND smells a lot of suspicions.

Like what other observers have outlined before, it will be totally useless to go ahead with this dialogue without other political parties involvement to guarantee.

After all they also participated in the 2016 elections which have caused HH a lot of misery.

Just what is it that the Commonwealth has seen in this issue that it is failing to go to bed? What is the role of the Commonwealth in all member states?

What I know is that one of its mandate is to make peace in trouble-torn countries then they should have made Nigeria its number one stop over and not Zambia.

Indeed, countries like South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Chad and Central African Republic could for now certainly used its services.

I may not fully its agenda in Zambia, but the interest to serve HH does to a greater extent worry me.

Does it mean it will visit all those countries where opposition parties have lost elections to ensure peace prevailed?

It is also questionable that the Commonwealth which has been ‘dead’’ for decades has suddenly stirred to life and targeting some countries in a suspicious manner?

There are some stories going round that our famous Commonwealth is linked to some organisations which are pushing for regime change in African so that homosexuality, same sex marriages can flow without any hindrance?

HH is not the only opposition leader who lost the presidential race in 2016 but why the interest only in him. It does not add up.

And to start with how does President Lungu open talks with a man who does not recognise him as the republican president? In what capacity will HH be meeting Lungu?

If one looks around, it is clear to all that in fact it is HH who is causing tension in Zambia today.

He is the one who has continued to insult President Lungu and his government which he has ceaselessly accused of being corrupt without proof.

Personally I do not see the need for this dialogue because it will not achieve whatever it is intending to do so because of the type of the person of HH who is just full of himself.

I am not a prophet of doom, but you can mark my words, nothing workable will come out of this much-talked about dialogue if it will take off at all.

May be, only may be, this could be time for UPND to replace HH at the top and put someone who will have a national appeal

Concerned citizen.
