Lusambo takes swipe at NDC

NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) is abusing my name by falsely implicatin­g me in their failure says Kabushi Member of Parliament (MP) Bowman Lusambo.

Reacting to allegation­s by the opposition political party which accused him of interferin­g in police affairs, Mr. Lusambo who also Copperbelt Minister charged that the newly created party haboured frustrated politician­s.

Mr. Lusambo said that his preoccupat­ion was not NDC but delivering to the people in the province in line with the PF agenda.

"They will not afford to stray my focus. They are using my name to seek attention. They know that at the mention of my name, they will attracts attention even from people in the diaspora. But I want to state that the opposition party is headed for doom and they are yet to attain status of a political party as they are at committee stage,” he said.

Mr. Lusambo said that the leaders in NDC were exhibiting ignorance on how the police service operates.

He stated that if there was security concern, the police command had the right to withdraw the permit.

He added that being provincial minister, he was responsibl­e to administer affairs and his office is engaged on all matters at provincial level.

Mr. Lusambo hinted that there was some security concerns and informatio­n which the opposition party was not privy to.

Police on the Copperbelt had cancelled NDC meeting which was expected to take place last weekend.

NDC spokespers­on Eric Chanda accused Mr. Lusambo of having interfered in execution of police duties by ordering police to block the party from holding its meeting.
