State of the art theatre coming to Mukinge hospital

MUKINGE Mission hospital management in Solwezi district has knocked down part of the kitchen to pave way for the constructi­on of a state of the art theatre.

Acting Executive Director Kingsley Kuwema disclosed that the project will cost close to US$ 1 million.

He said the bill of quantity has been done and works are likely to commence soon.

‘The cost include equipment and constructi­on of the facility,’’ Mr Kuwema said.

Mr Kuwema was speaking when PF provincial chairperso­n Jackson Kungo in the company of the provincial chairlady Catherine Mukuma and other senior party officials called on him at his office.

He said the current theatre is small and it is not well equipped hence the decision by management to construct a new and bigger facility.

‘’ And one thing I wish to bring to your attention is that the project will be funded by our cooperatin­g partners the Missionari­es from the Evangelica­l Church,’’ he said.

And Mr Kungo has commended Mukinge Hospital management for the initiative.

He said it through such initiative­s that government’s efforts are supplement­ed and implored the health personnel and the party officials in the district to co-exist.

Mukinge Mission Hospital is a grant aided hospital with a level two status (General Hospital) like Solwezi General Hospital in North Western Province.

It was officially opened on 25th July 1953 by the late Dr. Robert L. Foster.

The Hospital is owned by the Evangelica­l Church in Zambia and affiliated to Churches Health Associatio­n of Zambia-CHAZgiving it a strong spiritual ministry.
