Stop hate speech in 2018-ZRP
POLITICS of mudslinging and lies should end and instead politicians should utilise their energy on issuebased politics.
Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) president Wright Musoma said politicians should also use their energy on advising government when they go wrong.
Mr Musoma said it was unfortunate that some politicians had become professional liars, making sweeping statements to brand some government officials as being corrupt without taking such evidence to relevant law enforcement agencies.
He said the 2017 political landscape was characterised by lies, mudslinging and hate speech instead of issue-based politics.
In an interview yesterday, the opposition leader urged the police and all security wings not to relent in maintaining law and order.
Mr Musoma took a swipe at NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili and UPND president Hakainde Hichilema for practising what he described as ‘horrible politics’ and urged the two to instead tell the Zambians what they would do for them if elected into office.
“Our aspirations for the political scene in 2018 as ZRP is that politics of mudslinging, hate speech and jealousy should end. That energy should be used to advise government when they go wrong and offer checks and balances,” he said.
He said some politicians were using all kinds of schemes and underhand methods such as conniving with some religious leaders to validate them as winners of the presidential elections in 2021 which he said had the potential to sway people’s feelings.
He said the PF had shown politics of maturity and self-restraint by ignoring politicians who were demeaning the Presidency.
