Mkushi cries for water projects

-

By PETER MALASHA UPPER Lunsemfwa Ward Development Committee (WDC) chairperson in Mkushi has appealed to government to embark on water projects in the area.

Golden Musonko made an appeal in interview with the Daily Nation. Mr. Musonko said the water crisis in the ward was getting out of hand and needed attention. He said government should find an alternative such as introduction of water schemes projects which had proved to be doing well in other wards like Nkumbi.

“We are appealing to government to embark on water schemes projects in a bid to improve water supply in the area. Installation of water schemes machines will allow people access clean and safe water.” Mr. Musonko said.

Mr. Musonko noted that the water schemes projects if implemented would alleviate water woes residents are facing in the area. Mr. Musonko further observed that mothers and children are walking long distances in fetch of the commodity for home consumption.

And Mr. Musonko complained of the delay in repairing the broken down boreholes. He said it was agreed that over 30 broken down boreholes will be repaired through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) but nothing had been done yet.

Adding that, if the broken down boreholes could be repaired, water problems would be eased.
