DON’T BE SWAYED, SOUTH PF ADVISES MEMBERS

-

By ANDREW MUKOMA PATRIOTIC Front (PF) National Youth and Sports Chairman Kebby Mbewe has urged the party membership in Southern Province not to be swayed by the coming of new parties such as the NDC.

Mr. Mbewe has charged that only frustrated officials can join new parties because they have nothing to offer.

Speaking during a party meeting addressed by PF secretary general Davis Mwila on Monday, Mr. Mbewe said the aim of those leaving PF was to make sure the party dies but that, that would not happen.

Mr. Mbewe said, it was for that reason that party members in Southern province should not be cheated.

“I want to urge the membership in the province not to be cheated by frustrated individuals who are only bent on seeing the PF die. You joined politics alone so why should you follow some of these politicians,” he wondered.

“As PF members in Southern province, let us stick to what we know because politics is not gambling,” he said.

And speaking at the same meeting, Southern Province PF provincial chairman Lawrence Evans disclosed that the party is targeting to recruit more members in the province before 2021.

Mr. Evans assured the PF SG that as the party in Livingstone, was targeting to double the 17,000 votes which President Lungu got in 2016 by three times.

Meanwhile, former central committee member of the Rainbow Party (RP) Fred Chibuye has rejoined the ruling party.

Mr. Chibuye left PF in 2015 to join Mr Kabimba’s RP and was adopted to contest the position of Mayor for Livingstone City in 2016, which he lost.

Last year in November, Mr. Chibuye resigned from his position as MCC, only to return to the PF, the party he decribed as his home.
