NAPSA STARS AIMS HIGH
NAPSA Stars Football Club head coach Linos Makwaza says he will assemble a strong squad that will compete fairly in the MTN /FAZ Super League which is scheduled to kick off next March.
Speaking upon arrival in Livingstone where the MTN/FAZ Super League outfit is scheduled to spend two weeks to prepare for the new soccer season, Makwaza said that he was focusing on drilling a team that will compete for the top four positions in the league.
Makwaza noted that Livingstone was a perfect destination for NAPSA Stars pre-season trainings as it will offer the team the required physique.
He noted that his boys would be ready for the 2018 soccer season after the preseason trainings being held in Livingston.
“After being here for the next 14 days, the players will be prepared physically for the new season because Livingstone will offer us the humidity required for our pre-season physical training.
“I’m confident of assembling a strong team which will be better than last year’s team because our focus is to compete for the top four position in the league,” Makwaza said.
Makwaza replaced Tennant Chilumba who was sent on a four-week forced leave following the team’s poor performance in the 2017 soccer league season.
Makwaza went on to guide the pensioners to conclude the league on seventh position with 58 points and helped NAPSA reach the finals of Zambia’s only cup competition, the 2017 Barclays Cup tournament which was eventually won by ZANACO.
