Bokwe fires new shot for 2018

-

ZBy TERENCE MISELO AMBIAN'S singing trio Bokwe Music has announced its entry to 2018 with a new single called 'Donki'. This is a song meant to ignite the group's desire to put up a huge project this year.

'Donki', is an old-school vernacular Zambian slang that means choose or select.

Bokwe says the song title is inspired from olden-day pastime activity where young boys used to sit on a chill spot and would wait for girls to pass on their way to the market. When a new beautiful girl passed, a boy would inform all the guys in the hood that Donki gelo ulya (I have selected that girl).

That meant no other boy would be interested or fall for her. Surprisingly, the girl would not even be aware of the boy claiming to be hers. However, all the boys in the hood would be aware and stay royal to that boy by not going after his choice.

`Donki` the song, comprises different combination of languages such as Be mb a,Ka on de,Ns eng a,Lozi and English

Bokwe this year has decided to look back at the old times and bring out some social happenings and activities.

The song is available on various avenues on social media and Bokwe is set to release more singles for the year.

The group is made up of Kasen Elijah Kasitoka the writer of the ‘Donki’ single,Jitebe Mumba aka Gaz and Casmali real name Casint Malipenga.
