K12m allocated for stalled West projects
A TOTAL of K12, 000,000 has been allocated towards the completion of priority infrastructure projects that have stalled in the area, says outgoing Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu.
Mr Mubukwanu said following the presidential directive that projects which were nearing completion should be worked on first, the province would start working on the projects immediately,
Mr Mubukwanu said the province would begin works the projects as soon as it was possible in line with President Edgar Lungu’s directive.
He President Lungu had directed the treasury and all spending agencies to urgently constitute a special taskforce to expedite the completion of infrastructure projects which had stalled across the country.
Mr Mubukwanu told the Daily Nation that government was in a hurry to ensure that the facilities that were being built for the people in the province where put to use.
He said that the provincial administration had targeted to complete a considerable percentage of projects before the end of the year.
Mr Mubukwanu said the decentralisation programme the Patriotic Front administration was spearheading would help provinces to own projects.
“The provincial administration plans to complete some of these projects quickly and money will first go to priority projects as per presidential directive,” he said.
