Chilufya aids Mansa, Bahati youths
in Mansa and Bahati constituencies have been empowered with laptops worth K100, 000 to help them set up business centres. Mansa Central member of Parliament Dr Chitalu Chilufya donated the 20 laptops to the youths as a way of empowering them with information communication technology (ICT) skills. Dr. Chilufya, who made the donation in Mansa yesterday as part of Youth Day celebrations, said he would work to ensure the youth in the area were top on his empowerment agenda and see to it that opportunities were created for them through use of ICT. He said for that reason, he was giving out 10 computers to Bahati Constituency and 10 others to Mansa Central as another source of employment for them. “I believe this donation will provide an opportunity for many youths in the two constituencies to become computer literate, apart from the economic gains the computers would provide through the business centres which will be opened,” Dr Chilufya said. Meanwhile, Luapula Province Minister, Nickson Chilangwa said Government was aware of the challenges youths in the Province faced and that top of the agenda was to address youth unemployment.
