When will ZNBC improve?

-

Dear Editor, DESPITE moving to digital era, the picture and sound quality we are getting from our Zambia National Broadcasting Cooperatives (ZNBC) is disappointing and pathetic to say the least.

It leaves nothing to write home about our national broadcaster when new-born TV stations like CBC TV, Prime TV or QTV are doing perfectly well with their picture and sound quality together with their programing while there is no change or improvement at ZNBC.

The worst part is that the TV levy has increased from K3 to K5 and yet the national broadcaster is still giving pathetic services to its viewers.

Watching the just ended Four-Nations soccer competition played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on our national broadcaster, I could not help but hold the shame that in this digital time and era, a national broadcaster can still show and give its viewers bad quality picture.

Let the Minister of Information and Broadcasting look into this matter with the urgency it deserves. We cannot allow a situation where small TV stations are moving forward while ZNBC has chosen to move 10 steps backwards.

Let the powers that be intervene and help restore the public trust and respect that has been lost due to poor programing, poor sound and picture quality, the list is endless.

It’s high time ZNBC woke up and improved on its service delivery. I rest my thoughts.
