We’re in shock – NDC “Webster Katongo is a treacherous politician”
By NATION REPORTER
THE unimaginable withdraw of Webster Katongo from the Chilanga by-election and subsequent defection to the ruling party is a big blow on NDC, says their spokesperson Eric Chanda.
And Mr Chanda has described Mr Katongo as a “treacherous politician.”
Mr Chanda however reiterated that the NDC had learnt a bitter lesson from the “trickery” of Mr Katongo.
He charged that the behaviour of Mr Katongo was not only beyond imagination but immoral and a big blow on the NDC.
Mr Chanda said in a statement that what Mr Katongo had done was a bitter experience that had left the entire NDC membership shocked.
“As NDC we have learnt a bitter lesson from the treacherous behaviour of Mr Katongo. It has left the entire NDC membership wondering what type of a human animal Mr Katongo is,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Chanda however said that the NDC would not be shaken or dragged backwards.
He said that the party had learnt a lesson but wished Mr Katongo well in his political career.
Mr Chanda called on NDC members to up the game and be ahead of enemies of the party.
He reiterated that the party should not allow treacherous acts to repeat themselves.
Mr Katongo defected to the Patriotic Front (PF) on Sunday after withdrawing from contesting the Chilanga by-election on the NDC ticket, citing bad ideologies and lack of leadership.
