BE INDUSTRIOUS, EAST YOUTHS URGED
YOUTHS in Eastern Province should be industrious and organise themselves to effectively contribute to the development of the area, acting Chipata District Commissioner Kapembwa Sikazwe has said yesterday.
Mr. Sikazwe said it was time youths came together and engaged themselves in productive projects to spar development in the province.
He was speaking in Chipata at a social accountability project, an activity for the National Health Week under the theme ‘Adolescence Heath’
Mr Sikazwe said government had provided an enabling environment for the youths to effectively participate in the development of the province, but that it was vital for them to remain healthy to enable them do to so. He urged the youths to engage themselves in productive health styles for them to remain healthy, saying that it was important for the youths to preserve their health because they were not only key to national development but they were also the future leaders of the country. “It all starts with a positive vision and the government has all the required structures for progressive goals to be realised. As youths we have to find constructive proMects we can engage ourselves in and rise above the board,” he said. He urged the youths to engage themselves in agriculture, which was the economic mainstay of the province, for them to have a positive impact on the development of the area. ³$s youths, we have to find constructive projects we can engage ourselves in and rise above board to take advantage of the resources that this province has,” he said, adding that involvement of all youth youths would have a positive impact on the development of the province.
He said the youths were expected to be industrious for the country to realise its development potential as evidenced by the youth empowerment programmes and the 7th National Development Plan.
