Kamba blasts UPND

By NATION REPORTER UPND is riding on the incarceration of its former Member of Parliament (MP) Keith Mukata to gain political mileage by adopting his former girlfriend Charmaine Musonda as its candidate for the Chilanga by election, says former PF Lusaka province youth chairman Kennedy Kamba.

Mr Kamba said it was clear that the opposition party had no empathy for the plight of the former Cilanga M.P butwere able to visite former MMD president Nevers Mumba at Mwembeshi prison after his conviction.

“There is something not right. On one hand they adopt his girlfriend, yet on the other hand they are failing to show solidarity or console the wife andfamily of Mr Keith Mukata.

“They have never visited him from the time he was arrested until he was convicted,” he said.

Mr Kamba said it was unfortunate that UPND had failed to honour their own MP, who represented them as a party, and even as a party lawyer when they needed his services.

He said Zambians should be able to see that UPND has no interest in the people, but would take advantage of whatever little political mileage they could gain without caring about who suffered.

The Chilanga seat fell vacant after former UPND MP Mukata was convicted of murder when the High Court found him guilty of shooting to death a security guard.
