Sewing machines coming for Kankoyo women

By NATION REPORTER PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Kankoyo Member of Parliament (MP) Brian Mushimba will empower three women cooperatives with sewing machines so that they can be making school uniforms and work-suits for sale.

0r 0ushimba said the three women cooperatives with members each in 0ufulira would be empowered with sewing machines so that they could be making uniforms and work suits to sell and make money for themselves.

7he 0P, who is 7ransport and &ommunications minister, said in an interview yesterday that empowering women was one of the many empowerment proMects he had embarked on, to help alleviate poverty in the constituency.

, have come up with a number of empowerment proMects for women and youths in the constituency, and giving women sewing machines is one of them.

0r 0ushimba said there were also other proMects for women like chicken rearing which was also aimed at alleviating poverty in the area.
