We’re for regional integratio­n - Minister

NORTH Western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has reaffirmed government commitment in ensuring that regional integratio­n and cooperatio­n between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in particular Northweste­rn province of Zambia and Lualabala province of that country is strengthen­ed.

Mr.Mubukwanu says government is committed to ensure that Lualabala province and North western province were linked in trade, mining, social, economic and other opportunit­ies between the two countries.

The provincial Minister was speaking in Kolwezi when he paid a courtesy call on Lualaba Province Governor Richard Muyej Mangeze Mans.

And Lualaba Province Governor Richard Muyej Mangeze Mans said Zambia and DRC continue to enjoy the bilateral relationsh­ip as evidenced by the trade between the two countries.

The governor also informed the minister that his government was in the process of linking the two regions through the constructi­on of the road from Lualaba province through Mushima into Solwezi in north Western province.

“We are in the process of opening up this province and link it to north western province in terms of road constructi­on. “We want to strengthen our trade and other investment opportunit­ies by constructi­ng a road from Lualaba province via Mushima up to Solwezi,” said Richard Muyej Mangeze Mans.

He added that the linking of the two provinces will open up more trade and investment opportunit­ies aimed at developing the two regions and improving the lives of the people among the two countries. -
