`Laura Miti a big hypocrite’, says NCP

- By NATION REPORTER

LAURA Miti is a big hypocrite with no moral right to appeal to President Edgar Lungu to fire State House spokesman Amos Chanda, when she has used worse language against the republican President, the New Congress Party (NCP) has said. NCP leader Peter Chanda said in an interview yesterday that Ms Miti was being hypocritical to call for Mr Chanda’s dismissal when she has been defaming the Head of State without remorse. Mr Chanda was reacting to Ms Miti who appealed to President Lungu to fire State House spokesman Amos Chanda for having used some unpalatable and disparaging words against Chishimba Kambwili. “I finally heard the Amos Chanda and Chishimba Kambwili audio. I hope the President realises that, if he keeps Amos in that job, he will send a message to the nation that the very top of our country is rotten,” Ms Miti said. But the NCP leader said Ms Miti whom he described as a hypocrite was a wrong person to call for Mr Chanda’s dismissal when she has used unbridled language on the President himself. Mr Chanda also observed that Mr Kambwili has been attacking and insulting the Presidential aide using uncivil language and it was not surprising that the younger man had retaliated in kind. He however noted that Mr Chanda has apologised for the language, which Mr Kambwili has never done for the insults he has directed at the President and other people. Mr Amos Chanda has issued an apology in which he regrets the lapse of judgment that resulted in using disparaging language.
