Buildings blocking drainage path doomed

- By NATION REPORTER

WE shall not hesitate to demolish any illegal structures found along the path where the drainage was intended to be constructed, Kabwata Ward 6 councilor Longa Chiboboka has charged. Mr Chiboboka said that he will not allow any hindrances to derail the ongoing works of the drainage system in his ward by selfish individuals who had erected illegal structures where the drainage was supposed to pass through.

We are not going to allow anyone to destruct the ongoing drainage project works and especially those that have erected illegal structures across the path of the drainage” — Mr Chiboboka.

He said that he will make sure that the drainage project was completed according to the time schedule just like the other project under the Millennium Challenge Account in Kabwata. He said the developmental works were for the people and it was his mandate to deliver development to them which was also in line with the vision of President Edgar Lungu. “We are not going to allow anyone to destruct the ongoing drainage project works and especially those that have erected illegal structures across the path of the drainage,” he said. The construction of drainages was being done under the social inclusion and gender mainstreaming (SIGM) and information, education, communication (IEC) for the Millennium Challenge Account Zambia (MCA) funded by the United State Government.
