Truant PF members wont contest polls - SG
MEMBERS facing disciplinary action will not be allowed to stand in the party elections, says Patriotic Front Secretary General (SG), Davies Mwila.
Speaking when he addressed members from party structures for Central province in Kabwe yesterday, Mr Mwila said according to the party constitution, those not in good standing with the party cannot stand.
Mr Mwila said the party constitution should be followed by every member because it was bigger than an individual.
He said as party secretary general, it was his duty to protect the party constitution.
"Let us have respect for the party, it is bigger than individuals and as SG, am there to protect the party and it's constitution," said Mr Mwila.
And the SG has urged the structures in the province to focus on mobilizing the party as the structures were the party itself.
Mr Mwila said the party needs reliable structures that it could relay on and not the passenger like organs.
He has further urged party organs in the province to support members with party positions and not outsiders because they are already known.
"As party structures, support those in office because you know them, if you support outsiders you create problems for yourselves,” said Mr Mwila.
Mr Mwila warned party members with a habit of viewing the party as their property, saying it belongs to all members.
