An­other Zam­bian killed in SA

AN­OTHER Zam­bian iden­ti­fied as Mu­lenga Bwalya has died in Jo­han­nes­burg, af­ter he was stabbed to death by his South African friend dur­ing a drink­ing spree.

Mr Bwalya aged 35years and hold­ing pass­port num­ber ZN499905, met his fate in Benoni, Jo­han­nes­burg in the early hours of Sun­day. Re­ports in­di­cate that Mu­lenga was stabbed af­ter the two en­gaged in a quar­rel which re­sulted in him be­ing stabbed and de­spite ef­forts to save him by rush­ing him to the near­est hos­pi­tal, he was pro­nounced dead on ar­rival. Mr. Bwalya was a ware­house worker at a com­pany called Be­nash trans­port Apex in Benoni. Zam­bia’s High Com­mis­sioner to South Africa, Em­manuel Mwamba, yes­ter­day said he was sad­dened to learn of the death of Mr. Bwalya. He said his of­fice was fol­low­ing up the case with the Po­lice in Benoni and would en­sure that the cul­prit was ar­rested and brought to jus­tice. He said his of­fice would also li­aise with Mr Bwalya’s fam­ily in Zam­bia and the Zam­bia As­so­ci­a­tion in South Africa (ZASA) over the repa­tri­a­tion of his re­mains to Lusaka.
