ZAMBIANS know that University of Zambia (UNZA) riot was instigated by outsiders and the police just went there to quell the situation, says Zambia Republican Party Wright Musonda. Mr Musoma said that there were many insinuating factors regarding what happened at UNZA. He said it was clear that students were instigated by a named political party. Speaking in an interview with the Daily Nation Mr Musoma said it was clear to this party that it was not going to win an election ever again and that was why it had resorted to games of violence. Mr Musoma was reacting to a headline in the Mast newspaper “Arrest Killer Cops” which demanded for the prosecution of the police over the UNZA saga even before investigations were done which he said was quiet disturbing. “I want to tell the people who are making such screaming headlines that it does not matter if you are the people behind the death and the riots at UNZA which occurred, the law is coming for you, “The Zambian people know what happened at UNZA, that the riot was instigated by outsiders and they also know that the police just went to curb the riot because there are a lot of insinuating factors regarding the whole issue,” he said Mr Musoma said whether some people liked it or not, no amount of screaming headlines lies would help them escape justice once the truth was out. Mr Musoma explained that, there was no way the students would have started the riot because their meal allowances were not due, adding that putting the blame on them did not make any sense. He also wondered why if at all the students had a problem they would resort to going in the streets, attacking innocent people, burning and destroying infrastructure as a solution to their problem. Mr Musoma warned that if President Lungu failed to take action after the culprits were identified, his party would raise a protest.
