AMOUNT of intimidation from PF youths would prevent me from discharging my duties as assigned to me by President Edgar Lungu, says Katete District Commissioner Joseph Makukula.

Mr Makukula said he was aware that some PF youths were trying to throw spanners into his work by peddling lies against him.

He said that he was determined to perform his duties aimed at developing the district as assigned by the Head of State.

“I know that there is a group of PF youths labouring to throw spanners in my works by peddling lies against me,” said Mr Makukula

Mr Makukula, who was at one time locked out of his office by the party youths for allegedly being non-cooperative, said he was more than determined to pass through the stormy winds, verbal attacks and insubordination from the unruly youths.

He said it was for him to create an enabling environment that brought forth progressive agenda for national development.

Mr. Makukula said it took time for understanding and collaborative minds to develop the nation than a people committed to fighting each other.

He said he was not going to be pushed around and let the President’s effort towards development go to absolute waste over nonentities who were desperate to be spoon- fed at the expense of tackling development.

“I was called to serve the people. And I am not going to succumb to neglecting duties, at a time when the appointing authorities are expectant of me.

“I am aware of those working against me and my duty to work towards national programmes, but these problems I see them as a pure test of my abilities to lead the people,” said Mr. Makukula. Meanwhile, PF secretary general, Davis Mwila cautioned party cadres to desist from disturbing people working to develop Zambia.
