Clean water for all

Dear Editor, STRIDES made by Government in working towards mobilizing resources to ensure clean water for all Zambians, should be supported by all.

This comes at the backdrop of several UN conventions which ensures safe drinking water for all.

We should not have a situation where animals are sharing water with human beings or where people are relying on shallow wells for their water.

We should have a scenario in which women in rural areas will no longer walk long distances to access water.

Access to clean water supply should be Government’s top priority as it is a human right. It is good that Government has since prioritized rural areas, which are in dire need of clean water. It’s also good to note that the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection is receiving massive support from the donor community, as disclosed by Minister Richard Mukuka in Parliament.

This is an indication that donors have confidence in the Patriotic Front (PF) Government.
