CHIYANGI DARES ALGERIAN OPPONENTS

Eagles coach, Aggrey Chiyangi, has dared the team’s next opponents, Hussein Dyey FC of Algeria in the CAF Confederat­ions cup.

Eagles progressed to the next round of the CAF Confederat­ions Cup after beating Young Buffaloes from eSwatini 5-2 on aggregate to set up a meeting with Hussein Dyey FC of Algeria.

Speaking in a post-match interview after Eagles celebrated a 3-2 victory over Buffaloes in eSwatini on Wednesday, Chiyangi said that he is not afraid of the Algerian club adding that he has enough experience playing teams from North Africa.

Chiyangi hailed his players for their performanc­e which has seen them beat Buffaloes home and away to progress to the next round.

The former Nkana football club coach noted that he would do everything to help his players not to be intimidate­d when playing the Algerian side in their next fixture.

“I think with the level of my playing career and coaching I can never be nervous as a coach maybe the players and I doubt they (players) will be all that nervous but we will try and help them. The Arabs might have the exposure but we will do everything possible to make sure we do the best,” Chiyangi said.

Chiyangi’s boys are making a historical maiden appearance in the CAF Confederat­ions Cup which has two Zambian representa­tives including the Zambia Army sponsored Green Buffaloes who beat Al Merreikh of Juba from South Sudan 2-0 on aggregate to march on to the next round.

Buffaloes progress in the championsh­ip has excited coach Bilton Musonda who believes that his boys are making steady progress.

Buffaloes will face Club Sportif Sfaxien of Tunisia after beating Al Merrieck 2-0 on aggregate.

Manwhile, Nkana FC coach Beston Chambeshi says the game against Tanzanian giants Simba FC will be a 50/50 affair because both teams have strong squads.

Speaking after Nkana beat Do Songo from Mozambique 3-1 on aggregate to progress to the next round where they will face Cletus Chama’s Simba FC.
