- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

We pledge to continue working together in order to improve the welfare of our people. — Mr Kyembe

JOINT efforts between the church and government are key in easing difficulties faced by society, says  Evangelical Church in Zambia (ECZ) Lumwana congregation church overseer Maxwell Kyembe.   He made the remarks when the ECZ women’s league in the area presented 59 blankets to Lumwana District Hospital in Kalumbila worth K6,500.

He disclosed that the presentation was meant for the female and male wards respectively.

“We pledge to continue working together to improve the welfare of our people,” he said.

And receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, a representative, Mary Kakabalika thanked the church for coming to donate to the hospital.

She said the hospital needed society to come and partner with the Ministry of Health in order for the ministry to deliver quality health care.

“As a hospital, we are very happy with the donation, it is a very good gesture, “she said.

She said the donation has come at the right time when the hospital needed blankets for patients.

She assured the church that the blankets would be put to good use.
