Police after ‘nudist’ Figo

- By NATION REPORTER

POLICE in Lusaka will summon musician Cynthia Kayula Bwalya aka Kay Figo for questioning over her nude picture circulating on social media, says Police spokesperson Esther Katongo.

Ms Katongo said in an interview yesterday, the police have so far opened an inquiry to establish whether Kay Figo had produced the nude picture and posted on social media.

She said the police had taken interest in the matter because it was against the Zambian laws to circulate obscene materials.

The police would ensure that the matter was studied thoroughly and thereafter take appropriate action.

“We all know that Zambian laws do not allow one to circulate any pornographic materials. Anyone who does that breaks the law and is liable to prosecution,” Ms Katongo said.

She said once the police got the facts on Kay Figo issue, she would be charged with producing and circulating pornographic materials.

Pornographic pictures of the renowned musician have gone viral on social media and attracted condemnation from members of public.
