MOST road traffic accidents along the Kafue -Livingstone road during the festive season are fatal, the Road Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA) has disclosed.

RTSA chief executive officer Zindaba Soko stated that vehicles mostly involved in accidents include light motor vehicles adding that the main causes include tyre bursts, brake failures and passenger overload and driving under the influence of alcohol.

“As RTSA our demand is for all road users to be responsible because one irresponsible behavior may lead to serious injuries and death so if you can’t be responsible we shall force you to be responsible, “he said.

Meanwhile Mr Soko has disclosed that road fatalities have relatively reduced.

He said that the country has seen a relative reduction of road traffic accidents for the period January to September 2018 compared to the same period last year.
