PIA jittery over Saturnia audit report
THE Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) has failed to exculpate itself on allegations that it did not submit a report on the Saturnia Trust Fund to the Ministry of Finance as required by the law.
PIA registrar Martin Libinga when contacted declined to comment and said that a press statement would instead be issued but did not specify when.
When pressurised further the PIA registrar stood his ground saying he would not confirm whether or not the report had been handed over to the Ministry of Finance.
PIA board chairman Petronella Mwangala also referred the reporter back to Mr Libinga who vowed that
he would not comment on the matter. Recently, the PIA told the
Daily Nation that a report on the Saturnia Trust Fund had been delivered to the Ministry of Finance.
Various political leaders have been riled and have demanded for the probe of (PIA) to find out why a damning audit report of the Saturnia Trust Fund has not been availed to government when the institution has insisted that it handed over.
