PF woos Shesheke voters

- By SIMON MUNTEMBA

THE coming Sesheke parliamentary by-election is an opportunity for the electorates to vote for the ruling party because it has capacity to develop the area, PF Shesheke campaign manager Kebby Mbewe has said.

Mr Mbewe said the opposition had no capacity to develop the area and that it was only proper that the people voted for the PF which would deliver the much-needed results.

Mr Mbewe who is chairperson for Sports and Member of the Central Committee told the Daily Nation in an interview that the people of Sesheke should not make another mistake of voting for the opposition if they were to realise development.

Mr Mbewe said development had eluded some areas in the country because of voting for opposition representatives.

He urged Sesheke residents to vote for PF’s Dean Musule in the f parliamentary by-election slated for February 12.

He hoped that the people of Sesheke had learnt a lesson and that it would not make another mistake of voting for the opposition which had failed to take development to the area since time immemorial.

“The people of Sesheke should not make another mistake they made in 2016 when they voted for the opposition which has no capacity to develop the area. We are urging them not to repeat the mistake they made in 2016, they should just vote for a PF candidate Dean Musule,” Mr Mbewe said. He said the opposition leaders who have been elected in the past had not lived up to their promises.

And Mr Mbewe expressed optimism that the ruling party will scoop the seat because it had fielded the best candidate.

He said Western Province had become the ruling party’s bedroom and that the once voted for it would deliver to people’s expectations. Mr Mbewe announced that just like Mangango, the PF will go into Sesheke with issue-based politics which would win the party the seat.

He however appealed to all political players not to engage in any violence but conduct peaceful and issue-based campaigns.

PF secretary-general Davis Mwila appointed Mr Mbewe as campaign manager for Sesheke and will be helped by Captain Walusiku Liambela Walusiku.

The Sesheke Constituency seat fell vacant following the death of its UPND lawmaker, Frank Kufakwandi.
