Floods worry civic leader
FLOODS are a major challenge so we are entirely depending on the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) to start working on drainages, says Kanyama constituency Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula ward 11 councillor, Luckson Sakala.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr Sakala observed that floods in his ward were one of the major challenges during this rainy season adding that they were doing everything possible to control the situation.
“We are entirely depending on the DMMU to start working on the drainage as well as our franchise contractor who are already on the ground working on Los Angeles main drainage.
“And the other drainage they are working on is near Kanyama level one hospital,” he said. The civic leader appealed to residents in his ward to avoid littering in the drainages that had recently been constructed by AVIC international.
