RAY OF HOPE FOR TALKS AS POLITICAL PARTIES MEET

The Forum of Political Parties (FPP), without Parliamentary representation under the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) has mandated the ZCID to meet and resolve the impasse with the three church mother bodies.
According to a statement made available to the Daily Nation yesterday, FPP chairperson, Silavwe Jackson said, “In recognising that the national dialogue process should benefit all Zambians and taking into consideration the recent impasse between the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) and the leaders of the three Church mother bodies (CCZ, EFZ and ZCCB), that the ZCID board meets the leaders of the three church mother bodies”
The resolutions followed a meeting at Mika Lodge, Jesmondine in Lusaka to deliberate on the national dialogue process.
The meeting was also attended by the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) board members namely: the United Party for National Development (UPND), Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD), Patriotic Front (PF) and the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD).
Mr Silavwe said the meeting also resolved that the that the ZCID Board should meet the Leaders of the three Church mother bodies and conclude all pending issues before the national dialogue official launch on 18th January, 2019.
The forum has also resolved that t the agenda of the national political dialogue process as resolved by the meeting of political party Secretary Generals in Siavonga remains the same.
The FPP meeting was attended by thirty five (35) political parties and the ZCID has been ordered to report back after meeting the three church mother bodies before the January 18, dialogue launch date.
The meeting resolved that the that the ZCID Board should meet the Leaders of the three Church mother bodies and conclude all pending issues before the national dialogue official launch on 18th January, 2019.
