K10 bet wins Chingola miner K8m lotto jackpot

ENOCK Musonda, a Chingola based miner has won the Zambian Lotto Mega Jackpot of K8, 889, 100, using a K10 betting ticket.

Musonda who was ecstatic during the cheque presentati­on ceremony held at the Zambian Lotto offices in Lusaka, said the life changing win will go a long way in uplifiting not only the life of his family and siblings, but everyone in his clan.

Musonda said his tenacity and diehard approach of not giving up playing lotto, has finally paid dividends and encouraged other players not to relent.

“I started playing lotto in 2008, but never won the big jackpot. I however never gave up until today, “Lelo na li ntenta”, said Musonda, “(Today the net has shaken).” Even with this win I am not quitting lotto, I might even win the current K2 million jackpot, who knows, added Musonda.

Musonda who also won another K250 on another ticket, encouraged players to continue playing the game and to ignore detractors as winning can come at any time.

He also thanked Zambian Lotto for the hospitalit­y accorded to him and his wife during their stay in Lusaka.

And speaking at the same event, Zambian Lotto Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shawky Hemaidan said the K8, 889, 100 Jackpot is the biggest in the history of lottery in Zambia.

Hemaidan said his company has so far given out over K120millio­n in prize money since inception in 2008.

He said the Lotto game, is the easiest and most use friendly game that cost only k5 to play.

“This is not a gambling game. It doesn’t stretch your budget but requires only a small investment with potential huge earnings.

It is just a game of chance which has changed many peoples’ lives as is the case with Mr. Musonda here,” said Hemaidan.

He also revealed that Zambian Lotto will soon be introducin­g a new game in April this year to give a much big platform for lotto players.

He congratula­ted the winner and encouraged those that did not win to continue trying their luck as lotto is a game of chance. “Let us not give up.

We have given out over K120 million and we will still give out more in many years to come in order to help uplift the lives of our people in Zambia,” emphasised Hemaidan.
