CHONGWE URBAN ROADS UPGRADE GETS NOD
THE
Road Development Agency (RDA) has finally captured Chongwe urban roads to be upgraded, under the L400 Phase III project, Chongwe Mayor, Geoffrey Chumbwe has disclosed.
Mr. Chumbwe made the disclosure during the third ordinary council meeting held in the council chamber on Wednesday.
"For the first time, RDA has captured the Chongwe urban roads to be upgraded to bituminous standard.
The road projects have been captured under the L400 Phase III project in Lusaka Province.
This is encouraging as the people of Chongwe district have been yearning for tarred roads for a long time now," he said.
Mr. Chumbwe further called on management and staff of Chongwe council to continue pushing for development in the district.
"I would like to appeal to management and staff of Chongwe municipal council to continue lobbying for the quality service delivery to the people of Chongwe.
I am fully aware of the many complaints about the delays in the utilisation of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
“The delayed execution of projects across the wards can be attributed to procurement processes.
This has hampered development and as such I would like to urge officers concerned to be prudent in this matter.
“The utilisation of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) must be done in a timely manner to avoid delays in projects implementation.
However, I would like to assure you that Chongwe Municipal Council was making tireless efforts in ensuring that all demand areas in the district received urgent attention," Mr. Chumbwe said.
