KITWE MODERN HEALTH FACILITY EARMARKED FOR CONSTRUCTION
AMODERN Health Centre is to be constructed in Mugala compound of Kamakonde ward in Kitwe’s Nkana constituency, says Patriotic Front Ward councillor Elijah Simukoko.
This will be after 30 years from the time the settlement was established.
Mr Simukoko said the modern health centre to be constructed in Mugala area was one of the more than 600 health centres the government was constructing in various parts of the country to improve health service delivery.
In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Simukoko said Mugala area was one of the remote parts of Kamakonde ward and Nkana constituency in general .
“Mugala compound has always been in dire need of the health centre for various health services. So the construction of a health centre in the area is a step in the right direction.
“The people in the area will finally have a health centre after 30 years from the time the settlement was established. This is a positive development. I must commend the government for this project,’’ Mr Simukoko said.
Mr Simukoko said he was grateful for the support from Nkana Member of Parliament (MP) Alexander Chiteme in making sure that developmental projects were moving.
He said the project of improving health service delivery in remote areas by constructing health posts was a clear indication that President Edgar Lungu wanted to fulfill his campaign promises.
He urged Zambians to ignore detractors, but support the infrastructure development programmes which the government has embarked on.
“Infrastructure development like roads, schools and clinics are vital for the development of various sectors of the economy. This is why Zambians who mean well for this country will not politicise infrastructure development, but will give it credit, Mr. Simukoko said.
