‘UPND continued boycott of Youth Day irritating’

- By NATION REPORTER

PATRIOTIC Front Youths in Livingstone are concerned with the continued shunning of youth day celebrations by the opposition UPND.

District Information and Publicity Secretary Eddie Choma expressed sadness that the UPND was not realising that the country belonged to all the youths UPND inclusive.

Commenting on the UPND’s no show during the event, Mr. Chomba said that it was only through sharing ideas by young people that the nation can move the country forward.

“This day is our day as youths and we need meet together and share ideas on how we can move the country forward,” he said.

“The country belongs to us the youth and the people of Zambia but unfortunately our friends in the UPND are shunning this event...how can we move the country forward like that?” he wondered.

Mr Chomba has said there is a lot of unlimited potential in the youths which needs to be tapped.

And in his reflection, Zambia Air Force station chaplain Warrant Officer, Reverend Isaac Chipapala encouraged youths to be determined and contribute to the growth of the nation.

Reverend Chipapala said that this year’s Youth Day theme resonates well and must encourage to know that the sky is no longer limit as long as youths are determined.

“The youth must begin to think outside the box at individual level and as a nation and contribute to the growth of this country,” he said.

“Let us value out unique culture, our unique features as Zambians...we cannot have our better tomorrow without the focus of the youths of today,” he said.
