We’re determined to address youth unemployment - DC
GOVERNMENT is determined to address the unemployment levels which have grappled young people youths in the country, Chilanga District Commissioner Edith Muwama has said.
Ms Muwama reiterated that Government realised that young people were a force for development.
She advised young people to be innovative entrepreneurs and to develop their inner talent and harness the opportunities that government was presenting them.
She said this yesterday during youth day celebration in Chilanga.
“A smart Zambia can only be attained if our youths adopt a smart mind.
However youths must begin to exercise their minds and create reliant mind of development," she said.
Speaking at the same event, Chilanga Town Council chairperson Annie Brown urged young people to be creative by coming up with developmental projects and not be preoccupied with bad vices.
And Chilanga Member of Parliament Maria Langa Phiri called on young people to use technology wisely to the benefit and development of the nation.
She said her office was open to youths that had viable projects and urged them to think outside the box in the use of technology.
And Youth representative Etally Mabuwu called on young people to unite and amass knowledge, skills and innovation to be self reliant.
