We’re determined to address youth unemployme­nt - DC

GOVERNMENT is determined to address the unemployme­nt levels which have grappled young people youths in the country, Chilanga District Commission­er Edith Muwama has said.

Ms Muwama reiterated that Government realised that young people were a force for developmen­t.

She advised young people to be innovative entreprene­urs and to develop their inner talent and harness the opportunit­ies that government was presenting them.

She said this yesterday during youth day celebratio­n in Chilanga.

“A smart Zambia can only be attained if our youths adopt a smart mind.

However youths must begin to exercise their minds and create reliant mind of developmen­t," she said.

Speaking at the same event, Chilanga Town Council chairperso­n Annie Brown urged young people to be creative by coming up with developmen­tal projects and not be preoccupie­d with bad vices.

And Chilanga Member of Parliament Maria Langa Phiri called on young people to use technology wisely to the benefit and developmen­t of the nation.

She said her office was open to youths that had viable projects and urged them to think outside the box in the use of technology.

And Youth representa­tive Etally Mabuwu called on young people to unite and amass knowledge, skills and innovation to be self reliant.
