Kambwili’s driver hits, injures pedestrian

CHISHIMBA Kambwili’s driver, Henry Mulenga yesterday run over a pedestrian and reported himself to police.

The accident happened around 14: 00 hours in Kabangwe area when the driver, a Luanshya resident who was driving a Land Rover Discovery registration number ALD 5799 belonging to Mr Kambwili was overtaking.

Zambia Police Service spokesperson, Esther Katongo, identified the

pedestrian as Javis Mulenga aged between 30 and 35 years of Kabangwe who sustained serious injuries.

Ms Katongo said immediately after the accident, the driver picked the victim and rushed him to UTH and later reported himself to UTH Police Post.

“We received a report of a serious RTA which happened today at Katuba area near the toll gate involving a Land Rover Discovery registration number ALD 5799 which was being driven by Henry Mulenga of Luanshya. Also involved was a pedestrian identified as Javis Mulenga of Kabangwe aged between 30 and 35 years who sustained serious injuries.

Ms Katongo said that the vehicle belonged to Mr Kambwili.
