Salubusa happy with KYN project success

THE Swedish International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD) has been instrumental in ensuring that the Know Your Neighbor (KYN) Project whose aim is to foster a clean environment and combat crime in the community is a success, says initiator Mwamba Salubusa .

Mr Salubusa said his brainchild project dubbed was born in Kapwepwe Ward 25 in Lusaka’s Matero Constituency where he is Patriotic Front (PF) area councillor.

Recently, Lusaka’s Paradise area in Matero Township had witnessed suspected ritual killings which shocked the area.

The civic leader said since inception the KYN Project with support from ICLD has organised a number of workshops and visits which included international training programmes in Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden, Johannesburg in South Africa and in Kenya as well as several local workshops.

Mr Salubusa said KYN committee members were recently in Gaborone, Botswana for another international training programme.

He said the organisers of the workshop thought it fit to invite Lusaka City Council Town Clerk Alex Mwansa to attend as KYN project supervisor ahead of its rolling out.
